Today we hit up The Last Crumb Bakery & Cafe, a cute shop that opened recently on Main Street near 15th. We’ve been here a few times for a quick lunch on break from work, but today decided to treat ourselves to a longer visit.
Hot chocolates were definitely in order, as our original destination for the Hot Chocolate Festival was closed — two visits in a row! Ugh.
Whatever, we were more than happy to pop into The Last Crumb instead, and with their interesting selection of handcrafted hot chocolates to choose from, we think they deserve an honorary place in the festival!
Look at these beauties! Mmm. Naturally we had to order them both with house-made marshmallows… can you believe the size of these babies?! Fantastic.
This is the Raspberry Hot Chocolate, made with real pureed raspberry and infused with chocolate. This was a total winner, and we both loved it.
Chai Hot Chocolate, “a taste of the Himalayans with a spin”. It had a delicate, subtle flavour — but you could really feel that chai ‘burn’ in your throat.
Drool… We couldn’t help ourselves, we had to order a Peanut Butter Cookie Sandwich. This is the Raspberry Buttercream one, which we both kind of gushed over.
It was seriously as good as it looks.
We love the clean look of the cafe, with long chalk boards and everything written by hand on the display cases.
Swear to god, we wanted to take the entire bowl of these cookie sandwiches home. No lie!
Don’t these cakes look good? We’ll have to try a few slices next time.
A motto to live by, yes?
The space is bigger than you might think, with an upper level which was pretty packed with people.
There’s also windows practically everywhere, so the whole space is flooded with light.
Hungry? Whether you’re in the mood for an authentic Sconewich and soup, or perhaps a little dessert for lunch — The Last Crumb has got you covered.
