Today we stopped at French Made Baking, a little cafe & bakery located at 81 Kingsway, at the corner of Kingsway and Broadway.

We’d never been here before, and were eager to treat ourselves to their Hot Chocolate Festival selection, aptly titled “The Lord of Hot Chocolate”. All hail thee!

For $5.25 you get a handcrafted beverage, and your choice of French Made’s delectable macarons. We tried the dark chocolate, on the recommendation of the barista.

The Lord of Hot Chocolate is a blend of rich milk chocolate, infused with Earl Grey tea. It tasted just as good as it sounds, however it was a bit on the sweet side — generally to be expected with milk chocolate.

The cafe has a very authentic and cozy Parisian vibe, with seating for just six people. They offer a selection of freshly baked goods, as well as a fabulous retail selection of Kusmi Tea, one of our favorite brands.

Blue skies in Vancouver… everyday at French Made Baking 🙂

If you’re in the neighbourhood, pop by and give French Made Baking a try. We hear they have a pretty fantastic lunch as well, so we’ll be back to check that out soon.
