Apple Lane Orchards Apples Bisque – roasted chestnut, spiced brandy cream

This was a hearty soup, with a unique tart note from the granny smith apples. The texture from the apple pieces added a pleasant crunch, and the spiced brandy cream tasted fantastic as it melted gently into the bisque. Poured table side, the presentation was quite beautiful — but no surprise there, we are at Mosaic after all.

Fall Salad – baby carrots, beets, Tokyo turnips, fennel, pumpkins, tangerine dressing

Almost too pretty to eat, this salad was crisp, fresh and light. Quite simply — it was superb, and something we’d love to eat again and again. The pumpkin puree was a nice nod to the season as well, and worked rather well with the earthy beets and spiciness of the turnips.

Mosaic Harvest-13

A la Minute Smoked Skuna Bay Salmon — kale nori, wasabi cauliflower puree

Luscious, silky, buttery… this was everything it should be, and then some.

Mosaic Harvest-15

Grilled Curried Cauliflower Steak – baby carrots, dates

Mosaic Harvest-18

Pumpkin and Nutmeg Creme Brulee

Who doesn’t like creme brulee? This was like a big warm hug, it felt so comforting. It had a nice smooth texture, and had a gentle spiciness that wasn’t overpowering. We liked that this wasn’t overly sweet either, and it was a nice way to finish of the meal.

As if you needed another excuse to go to Mosaic. Well, now you have one. Harvest Mosaic should not be missed, and for just $27 per person it makes for the perfect date night idea. Head over to VANEATS.ca and pick up yours before they’re all gone!

Would love to participate in these dinners but don’t eat sugar. Why do they never offer a cheese option for dessert? Not really asking you ;)… Just a general comment about set menus in general.

Got something to say?
