Dine Out Vancouver Festival has been around since 2001, and since then this event has grown bigger and bigger each and every year: from 57 establishments at its inception to now over 300+ participants, and thousands of dishes to choose from.

The Acorn

A favourite of ours, for sure! The Acorn never disappoints. They are an award-winning, vegetable-forward restaurant and bar located in the heart of Vancouver’s Main Street. If it’s your first time, you absolutely must try their Kale Salad — it’s outta this world!

Cacao Vancouver

A progressive and fresh Latin American menu created by Chef Alveraz and his team, Cacao’s focus is on high quality and regional ingredients. Cacao is a place to discover, or re-discover Latin American cuisine at its finest. The mushroom 50 year old Mole definitely sounds like something we need to try.

Edible Canada

Edible Canada is located in the heart of Granville Island, and this year they are doing something a little different. They’ve invited Chef Rich Francis, Chef and Founder of The Seventh Fire Hospitality Group, Red Chef Revival & Cooking for Reconciliation, to help prepare a truly Canadian menu which showcases indigenous cuisine. Bison Tartare? Yes, please!

House Special

House Special is a restaurant run by brother and sister team Victoria and Patrick Do. Executive Chef Phong Vo helms the kitchen, with a clean and crisp approach to modern Vietnamese cuisine, incorporating plenty of bright, vibrant flavours and colours. Just picture yourself eating a chicken skin wrapped sablefish, curried kabocha gnocchi, golden beet, coconut and turmeric velouté. Shall we save you a seat?

Catch 122 Bistro

Serving up rustic Canadian comfort food in a casual yet beautiful setting, Catch 122 Bistro is all about creating simple food you can relate to. A stand out menu item here is their Sturgeon Hot Dog with apple relish, raisin mustard, celery and shaved foie gras. Can’t say we’ve ever heard of such a hotdog!

Chicha

Chicha restaurant is a fun, casual restaurant that offer modern and creative small share plates as well innovative cocktails inspired by Peruvian ingredients and flavors. Chicha is a place where friends, lovers, and family can come have an upbeat time, share dishes and experience bold flavored, colorful, modern interpretation of Peruvian food. Their Wild Mushroom Lomo Saltado sounds amazing — made with portobello, shitake, button mushrooms and served with kennebec fries, onions, peppers and tomato stir fry. Yum!

Fable Kitchen

Standing for Farm-to-Table, Fable has been around since 2012 and has been serving up amazing brunch and fabulous dinners since we started blogging. We’ve had the opportunity to eat at Fable many times, and Chef Trevor is always working on something new. The Moroccan Lamb served with sunchoke, labneh, fritters and walnut chutney sounds amaze!

The Cascade Room

Located on Main Street, The Cascade room takes a modern riff on the classic UK pub, and are also known for their West Coast comfort fare prepared by Executive Chef Tim Evans, as well as their expertly crafted cocktails and extensive beer selection. If you’re a burger fan, be sure to try their Venison Burger made with huckleberry and red onion chutney, stilton blue cheese, arugula and a side of kennebec chips.

Salmon N’ Bannock

Proudly showcasing Aboriginal cuisine with a variety of “nationwide” inspired culinary delights and using the freshest seasonal ingredients, certified organic game and wild fish; Salmon N’ Bannock is composed of several different nations such as Nuxalk, Haida Gwaii, Nuu-Cha-Nulth, Okanagan/Little Shushwap Indian Band, Cree, Naxwaxda’xw and Musqueum. Everything on this menu sounds great, especially the Red Snapper served with Lemon-Pea Puree and the Signature Sweet Grass Beurre Blanc and the Mushroom and Root Vegetable ‘Shepherd’s Pie’.

Kaya Malay Bistro

We’ve never actually eaten here, but the menu options look great! Kaya Malay Bistro offer Contemporary Malaysian cuisine with French influences. Apparently we have to try their Roti Canai which is a signature dish of theirs — just one more reason to stop in for a visit.
